Sawyer Michigan Rendezvous

Before heading to Three Oaks, we stopped at Sawyer Antique Mall just north of Harbert. This is one we hadn’t checked in a while.

Very impressed by the sheer size and scope of its offerings. In addition to several main levels, it has a bargain basement and an attic devoted to books, records and movies.

We did pick up a couple of 45’s including this Johnny Burnett E.P and an unusual John Fred and His Playboy Band item. 'Judy In Disguise' was his big hit. 'We Played Games' b/w 'Lonely Are the Lonely' are a little more obscure.

I also spotted a reasonably priced metal doll house which I decided I would purchase if the guitar case didn’t work out.

I am writing this in a lodging where I have no internet connection combined with a  weak Sprint cell phone signal. I am getting a taste of what solitary confinement would feel like. I won’t be able to update this blog until I get decent internet. I did find a hotspot earlier, but my phone ran out of juice and I was unable to transfer my pictures.

Going forward, I am going to plug this loophole and make sure I always have internet, even if it means dragging around a 200-mile cable…. unless I do actually find myself in true solitary confinement, in which case I will at least inquire as to the possibility of getting a wifi connection since it never hurts to ask.
